Red Bull Tug of Oar: A Rowing Duel on the Golden Horn at Tersane Istanbul

On 11 October, Tersane Istanbul’s Golden Horn waterfront hosts Red Bull Tug of Oar as part of Beauty & Wellness Week. Taking the traditional concept of tug-of-war onto the water, the format brings two rowing boats head-to-head, connected by a single rope.

The single-elimination competition will feature 16 mixed teams, each made up of one female and one male athlete, testing strength, endurance and strategy as they attempt to pull their opponents across the centre line.

From the Round of 16 through to the final, every race will take place on the same day. A sequence of short, high-intensity duels will unfold along Tersane Istanbul’s waterfront, culminating in the final as the sun begins to set over the Golden Horn.
